Frequently Asked Questions

What is it?

risk:BENEFIT is a centralized, searchable database for physicians of all specialties to have a universal platform to discuss the risks and benefits of procedures and interventions with patients and their families in an easy-to-understand manner. It is meant to provide a starting point to have a discussion about the best decision for an individual patient before undergoing a procedure or intervention.

Who is it for?

risk:BENEFIT is a service healthcare providers sign up for, to ultimately pass the information on to patients and their families. While physicians can create accounts, it is also beneficial for advanced practice providers such as PAs and NPs during the informed consent process, or for nurses who might help with coordinating care.

What EHRs do you integrate with?

We currently support integrations with Epic and Cerner Millennium. We can technically integrate with any EHR that supports the SMART launch standard. If there's an EHR you'd like to see us integrate with, please email us at support@riskben.com.

How to contribute?

We love feedback! Tell us what works well, and what you would like to see changed or added. If you’re also passionate about patient education, ask us about becoming a section editor. Reach out to us at support@riskben.com.

What's in store?

Just a few things we are thinking about at the moment (somewhat in order): EHR integration into the informed consent documentation process (Epic and Cerner), AI powered writing aids for custom charts, expanded review process for custom charts (in order to be integrated into the main database), expanded list of available translation languages (currently English and Spanish), “most popular” filters for each specialty, and much more. If you have suggestions for features or would like to have us prioritize one, please email us at support@riskben.com.
